Mălina Ciocea is an associate professor at the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations – The National University of Political Studies and Public Administration, Bucharest, and a researcher in the Laboratory Communication, Discourse, Public Problems (CODIPO) of the Research Center in Communication, SNSPA, Bucharest. Her research interests are: collective memory as a public problem, the construction of diasporic identity, the reconstruction of communitarian values under the pressure of consumerism. Her recent research projects focus on the memory of communism in young generations, the role of media debates and consumer culture in building the memory of communism, the discourse on the diaspora in the Romanian public sphere.
